‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care And someone said “I know what, I’ll do my taxes.”
Happy New Year!
We’ve just been looking at untied’s holiday stats. We’ll start with Christmas Eve which seemed to be a regular day for many people, just with a few extra mince pies. While most untied users took Christmas Day off, some people still found it a good time to be doing their taxes. Even more piled in on Boxing Day, when eight times as many did their taxes.
Over the period, tax admin was most popular between 11am and 1pm, with an afternoon spike straight after lunch. untied’s experience is reflected more widely. HMRC reported 3,003 returns filed on Christmas Day (a bump of over 10% which perhaps suggests an increase of tax returns overall), and 27 December was the busiest for online tax return searches over the last six months. Love Actually was on TV that evening. No further comment.
