Meet the untied team! This week we talk to Catia Pedrosa, UX Designer about what she does, what it’s like working at untied and what her first job was…
What you do and how does this help users?
I’m part of the product team at untied and I work on improving our user experience. Since I joined, I’ve been putting myself in our users’ shoes to make sure everything is as simple and straightforward as it can be.
How long have you been at untied?
Since December 2020
What made you want to work in a start up?
I didn’t join untied because it was a start-up, that just happened. However, having previously worked in both start-ups and in bigger organisations, I came to realise there is a vast difference between the two. When you are part of a start-up it’s very rare that your days are the same, there is always something different happening and I really enjoy that.
What attracted you to untied?
Being part of untied has been an amazing experience. I have a flexible working schedule, I work with great people, I feel valued as a team member and I get to learn about new things.
What is it like working at untied compared to working in an established business?
I find it liberating, especially when I’m working on something more creative. As much as I would like, I can’t sit down and decide that somewhere between 9am to 5pm I’m going to be creative. This can happen at any time so it’s good to know that I can adjust my schedule around it. And it’s great when you are working at random hours and you find out some colleagues are too!
What was your first job?
A fashion studio assistant. Long hours during Fashion Week but I had the opportunity to travel to Berlin for free!
What would you do if you won the lottery?
I would travel! But right now, I probably have a better chance at winning the lottery than travelling.
What is the last picture/photo you took?
During my morning run, I saw some pretty flowers on a tree that were worth taking a picture of.
